Lake Tahoe

One of my favorite things to do while visiting Lake Tahoe is hiking.  There seem to be never-ending trails.  There are local trails that go through town, trails from the campground areas, and trails in the state parks.

Hiking in Town – South Lake Tahoe

When staying in town, you can easily find trails at the back of neighborhoods.  If you are staying in a vacation rental, just look at google Maps and see where the cul-de-sacs are.  There are often nice trails that go from neighborhood to neighborhood with groomed trails.  These are good for hiking and biking.

Hiking Around the LakeTahoe in summer

There are bike trails that go around Lake Tahoe.  Most are continuous, except for the Emerald Bay area, which in my opinion is a bit dangerous to ride a bike.  I never see people walking in that area until the trail starts up again.  You can find where the trails are on Google maps.

Campground Hikes

The off-season is the best time that I like to enjoy these trails.  There are far fewer people staying in the parks at that time and there are trails that meet up with the campgrounds.  Some of my favorites are Sugar Pine State Park and Fallen Leaf Campground, South Lake Tahoe.

Conclusion

While hiking, I always have my camera and take tons of photos.  Almost every few minutes I seem to find something beautiful to take a picture of.  The same picture can look totally different at different times of the day and different seasons, always awesomely beautiful!
